This visa category caters to existing employees of multinational organisations who are to be transferred to the United Kingdom from an overseas entity, which is linked by common ownership or control.
The Intra-Company Transfer route is for established workers who are to be transferred to the United Kingdom to do the skilled work, whilst the Intra-Company Graduate Trainee route is for workers who are being transferred to the UK to undertake a role which is a part of a structured graduate training programme.
Switching to Intra-Company routes is allowed within the UK from the eligible visa categories.
A dependent partner or child can join the main applicant under this visa route.
The Intra-Company visa routes do not lead to settlement in the United Kingdom.
In order to be successfully granted Intra-Company visa, the applicant must earn at least 60 points by meeting mandatory criteria.
Mandatory criteria to be met when applying for the Intra-Company visa are split into validity, suitability, eligibility and financial requirements.
Points required for Intra-Company visa are as follows:
· Sponsorship (20 points)
· Job offer at an appropriate skill level (at or above RQF level 3 or equivalent) from a UK based company who is a Licensed sponsor (20 points)
· Salary at the required level (20 points)
In order to be eligible to apply under the Intra-Company Transfer route, the applicant must be currently working for the sponsor group for 12 months, unless the applicant is a high earner. Under Intra-Company Graduate Trainee route, an applicant must have worked outside the UK for the sponsor group for a continuous period of at least 3 months before applying.
When applying for permission to stay in the United Kingdom and having resided in the UK with permission for 12 months, the applicant will automatically meet the financial requirement. If not, the applicant must have held the funds of at least £1,270 for a 28-day period or have a confirmation from their A-rated Licensed sponsor that they will meet the maintenance associated with a visa application.
