Acting for a shareholder/director of a well known high street concern in connection with the retirement of the shareholder from the organisation.  Involving using the provisions of the UK Companies Act to set up a meaningful dialogue which resulted in the shareholder/director obtaining the optimum price for his shares.

 

Successfully acting for the principal beneficiary under a discretionary offshore trust in a claim for breach of contract/professional negligence against solicitors and counsel for failure to advise on the impact on the trust of the ten yearly charge for Inheritance Tax purposes.
