It is very important to us at Chan Neill Solicitors that our people use their talents and resources to help others and to support the communities in which we represent, live and make our living.

As a firm, our activities include pro bono work for our solicitors that not only allow them to get involved in areas of law which gives them a different perspective but also the opportunity to make a good social impact.  At Chan Neill Solicitors, we regularly give legal advice on a pro-bono basis and sometimes even second our solicitors out.  Chan Neill Solicitors helps, on a pro-bono basis, human rights and charity law-related cases, and currently has a solicitor seconded out to a start-up social enterprise headed by the Rt. Hon Lord Wei of Shoreditch.

Through Michael Chan, Senior Partner at Chan Neill, the firm makes time for charitable causes and strives to make Chinese culture and links in the United Kingdom more prominent.  Michael raised that bar with the advent of the London Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival which he chaired and helped set up, in his year as President of the China Town Lions Club, with the Hong Kong Economic & Trade Office in 2007 and 2008 respectively.  This festival is now a major annual event in the British Chinese community calendar and funds raised go to many needy causes.

Andrew Neill, Managing Partner at Chan Neill, is a Trustee of Love in Action.  This is a charity working in Uganda.  Amongst other projects the charity built and runs a primary and secondary school and raises sponsorship for school fees and food for the children.  Andrew is heavily involved as being a trustee he spends his summer vacations visiting and helping out at the school.  Donations from Chan Neill have been key to the financial running costs of the various projects as well as providing mosquito nets recently to all the children.  For more details please take a look at the website  www.loveuganda.com

Andrew is also a volunteer money coach with the charity Christians Against Poverty, which helps individuals and families deal with personal debt and budgeting issues.
